Providence Farm Collective (PFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating equitable access to farmland, farming education, and agricultural opportunities for under-resourced and refugee communities in Western New York. Focused on sustainable and culturally relevant agriculture, PFC empowers individuals and communities—especially immigrant, refugee, and Black farmers—to grow their own food, preserve farming traditions, and build intergenerational wealth through land access. The collective operates a 37-acre farm in Orchard Park, where more than 275 farmers from over 15 different cultural backgrounds collaborate and cultivate land using organic and environmentally conscious farming practices.

The organization’s community-centered approach integrates agricultural training, entrepreneurial development, and mentorship tailored to the unique needs of culturally diverse farmers. Their shared land model emphasizes cooperation and supports farmers in achieving food sovereignty while increasing access to fresh, healthy food within marginalized communities. Through initiatives such as youth mentorship, language-accessible programming, and traditional seed preservation, PFC fosters a resilient agricultural ecosystem rooted in equity and inclusion. Providence Farm Collective is a member of several regional and national sustainable agriculture networks and continues to serve as a vital resource for supporting food justice in the region.
