Profile
Cornell University Emergency Medical Service (CUEMS) is a fully student-run, volunteer emergency response agency dedicated to providing high-quality pre-hospital care to the Cornell University campus community. Operating 24/7 during the academic year, CUEMS responds to medical emergencies, offering critical first-response care until advanced services arrive. Certified as a New York State Basic Life Support First Response (BLS-FR) agency, CUEMS members are highly trained student EMTs, committed to serving their peers with professionalism, speed, and compassion.
CUEMS is recognized for its strong campus presence, rigorous training programs, and dedication to continuing education in emergency medicine. The organization works closely with Cornell University Police and local emergency services to ensure a seamless emergency care system. Aside from emergency response, CUEMS also engages in community outreach, offering CPR and first aid education to students and staff. This dual focus on service and education builds a safer, more informed campus environment. CUEMS stands out as a model of student leadership and excellence in campus-based emergency services.
